Biography
Latif Karimi was a 58-year-old retired Brigadier General and veteran who was killed during protests in Malekshahi, Ilam, on January 3, 2026. While state media initially labeled him a fallen official, local reports and activist archives honor him as a protector of the people who died shielding protesters from direct gunfire.
